Gunpla resources I make use of:

  • Hobbylink.tv - Lots of cool groups, videos and links to useful information. Hobbylink.tv also links to Hobby Link Japan, the best place to purchase Gunpla on the web (sorry GG Infinite).
  • GG Infinite - A US based retailer, typically provides better deals than Amazon and offers flat rate shipping (9.99). GG Infinite also stocks P-Bandai exclusives, so if you're quick and willing to pay a slightly higher price you can acquire some of the rarer model kits available. More importantly perhaps GG Infinite is affiliated with the excellent blog Gundam Guy, which I check daily for news, inspiration and sometimes frustration - darn those scratch builders!
  • You Tube - Jabman025Vegeta8259 (Henry), RRobbert184 and Prime92. I'd recommend checking the channels of these fine gentlemen before committing to a new Gunpla unless your absolutely smitten. On occasion a Gundam model doesn't live up to the standards we builders are accustomed to - I'm looking at you Delta plus - the reviews these guys posts can save you a lot of regret and/or rage. Of course if you're like myself and simply I enjoy reading/hearing other peoples opinions on model kits then these channels will no doubt entertain. Jabman and Henry also paint kits and are a good resource for aspiring painters, Henry in particular is quite talented.
  • Good Guy Dan's Gunpla Blog - Speaking of painting, all hail Dan! Jokes aside Dan is seriously talented, I frequently (2-3 times a week) check in to see what he and his airbrush have birthed. He's got a good collection of tutorials posted, as well as a section detailing the tools he uses for his creations. There is a sea of tools out there, this is a great resource for narrowing down the choices.
  • Gajin Gunpla - The better half of the Hobby Link TV tandem of Syd and Ryan (sorry Ryan) operates his own blog. This blog mostly covers Gunpla but every now and again something interesting - Blade Liger AB - or something less so - Star Wars - will make an appearance. Sid's reviews are pretty in depth and feature lots of pictures from various angles, he's also very good at pointing out things that may prove troublesome for builders - loose joints, weak ankles, brittle parts, confusing manual sections, etc.
  • Amazon - I don't buy a whole lot of model kits from Amazon, as I've stated earlier it's my opinion Hobby Link Japan (HLJ) is the best by far, followed by GG Infinite. However when it comes to supplies (Paints, Airbrush kits, Brushes, Cements, Nippers, etc.) I can't recommend Amazon enough! Not only are the prices on these items well below that of their competitors but most tools are eligible for free two-day shipping through Amazon Prime. For those without Prime free standard shipping (minimum order of $30) will get your products delivered within 7 days give or take.
  • Mech9 - Lots of good stuff here but the most important item item on this blog is the English color guides section. This section provides scans of Gunpla model kit guide books, each scan features English translation making it easy to identify colors and interpret Kanji symbols.
