Early Returns Are...

Very good in my humble opinion. Thanks to Gundam Guy we now know what Master Grade Hyaku Shiki ver. 2.0 is going to look like on our collective shelves. I'm simply loving this color choice! While the gold of the original Hyaku Shiki was lovely, it was also a bit too flamboyant and its magnetic attraction to finger prints quickly ruined it's luminscence. Meanwhile the Ballute System version was a spoiled mustard eye-sore. Here Bandai has found a successful middle-ground and remedied both of these shortcomings by adorning this version of Quattro Bajeena's Mobile Suit with a lovely soft gold that should prove finger print resistant.

According to these images, it appears Bandai has under-gated the armor parts while using traditional methods on everything else as there are visible nub marks.

I can say with honesty that these nub marks don't really bother me, as a bit of sandpaper and/or a layer or two of flat coat will render them minimized or invisible. What I find really intriguing are the suits surrounding the Hyaku Shiki, which I'll get to momentarily.

But first one last bit about nub marks before I move on. I really appreciated what has happened here. Bandai could've easily cleaned up these marks and left us all guessing as to whether this was a professional kit or the kit we'd all get. By leaving the marks they showed an understanding of the customer base, and likely eased a great many minds concerned with nub mark placement. Now, onward to the intrigue!

Zeta to the left, Mk. II to the right, hmm. Are Bandai hinting at 3.0 versions of these two kits? It wouldn't surprise since both of these kits are from a very popular anime and are approaching their 10th birthdays respectively. Of course it's just as likely the company simply wanted to fill the shelf space with companion suits from the series. While I'd welcome a 3.0 version for either kit I'd much rather see a Double Zeta Ver. 2.0 (No, the FAZZ does not count). Since we don't know anything concretely we are left with a single option, speculate wildly! So dear readers drop a line in the comments and share your predictions and let us know if you intend on picking up this latest kit?
